On Wednesday, March 8, Marion Mayor Nick AbouAssaly gave his eighth State of the City address to a large crowd at the Cedar Rapids Marriott. The 29th Annual Marion State of the City Luncheon was presented by the League of Women Voters of Linn County.

This year’s “Delivering on Our Promise” message focused on the completion of several projects including the streetscape project, the new library, and the Indian Creek trails. Nick spoke on his vision for these major initiatives, giving credit to the commitment of Marion residents and business owners, tagging it, the "Marion Way."

"Our commitment to higher quality, investing in the things the community desires and giving people amazing opportunities has been a game changer," said Mayor AbouAssaly "Putting it on the map and making it a preferred place where people and businesses want to be."

Marion is the 13th largest city in the state and has had an astounding 18% growth in the last decade.
